"Let's March Together For Veterans"
I am extremely proud to have been elected the 2016-2017, State Commander, of the great Department of Louisiana VFW, on June 26, 2016, at the 85th Annual State Convention. This is truly my honor to serve!
I had a huge medical scare last weekend and now I am back home doing so much better. I want to thank all for all the prayers, calls, texts and cards. I appreciate the out pouring of care for this new State Commander. I am ready to work VFW!
Having worked with veterans for over thirty years in the VA system and I know the responsibility entrusted in me to continue helping veterans – as we meet the challenges of VA health care that our veterans depend on and earned. That is why membership growth is the most important goal for the Veterans of Foreign Wars. We must maintain the VA Health Care system or else – the VA will not be here for veterans in need.
As I have said a million times – this is not about me -- this is about us, the members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. We will be working every day to make certain that our organization reaches its membership and community service reporting goals.
As State commander, I will be asking all our members to work for the organization, work for your post, work for your community and make our VFW organization the best of the best – cause -- No One Does More for Veterans.
My goal is “All American” for our department and I will be living it every day of my term of office. I want all our posts to work toward that goal also! Most importantly, I would like to first thank the comrades, for their wonderful support and congratulate all VFW and Auxiliary newly elected and appointed officers. Especially Madam President Susanne Wastlund on her election as the State President. The officers and I pledge VFW support to the Auxiliary members. Just let us know if we can be of assistants to your team.
With my theme: “Let’s March Together for Veterans”, it will take all of us working united for the same goals and working together to be successful in all that we do!
